A New Guinness World Record!

Now this was a pleasant surprise.

I received an email today that stated that Mozilla set a Guinness World Record for most software downloads in a 24-hour period. From 18:16 UTC on June 17, 2008 to 18:16 UTC on June 18, 2008, 8,002,530 people downloaded Firefox 3. I happily did my part in contributing to that record. It's really neat to know I was a part of history.

And I've been happily using Firefox 3 ever since. The only glitch I've experienced using Firefox was the compatibility problems I experienced with Blackboard, which ended up being rather an irritant as I discovered this problem whilst working on a midterm for my students.

But besides that, I've been a happy surfer.

Congratulations, Mozilla!
