Mass of Remembrance for Cory Aquino

Goodness. I am always running late with my posts!

Last Saturday, the Filipino community in the Triangle Area (North Carolina) celebrated a Mass of Remembrance in honour of the late Philippine President Corazon Aquino.

This Mass took place at Holy Infant Catholic Church. Many thanks to Fr. Joe Brennan, OSFS, and the people of Holy Infant for opening their space to us.

Here is the music we sung during this Mass. Yes, my Liturgical Snob friends will tell me that some of what was chosen was not appropriate for Mass, but as one of my non-Filipino friends who attended the Mass told me, the people sang all the Tagalog music very well. (The English music was also sung very well.) Any numbers you see come from Breaking Bread 2009.

Many thanks to Charles C., Brian E., and Alan P. for their assistance in planning the music and liturgy.
